Heriberto Menendez M.D.

Pediatrics - Board Certified

Dr. Menendez is a Board Certified Pediatrician. He graduated from the University of Puerto Rico in 1971 and from the School of Medicine at the University of Puerto Rico in 1974. He is a member of the Academy of Pediatrics, and Co-Medical director of the Children’s Developmental Clinic at Kishwaukee Community Hospital.

Dr. Menendez's practice specializes in the preventative care and treatment of newborns, infants, children and adolescents up to 18 years of age. He also has a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of Attention Deficit/Hyperactive Disorder, which he does mainly through his work at the Child Development Clinic.

He has practiced in the community since 1978. During this period he has served in different capacities including DeKalb Clinic Medical Director, Chief of Pediatrics, Chairman of the Quality Assurance Committee, Executive Board Member and Kishwaukee Community Hospital’s Chief of Medical Staff, Chairman of the Pediatric Department and Board Member. He has been married for nearly 40 years to his very patient wife, Ileana, and they have three grown children, Raquel, David and Becky. At last count they were up to four granddaughters. He is fluently bilingual in English and Spanish. In his free time he plays the Spanish guitar for enjoyment and he is a computer geek wanna-be. He is sustained by his Christian faith, which has been foundational in any and all personal and professional achievements.
