Stereotactic Breast Core Biopsy

New Procedure Assists In The Fight Against Breast Cancer

In a very exciting development, DeKalb Clinic's General Sugery Department and Becky Jarmen of the Radiology Department have performed the area's first Stereotactic Breast Core Biopsy.

This procedure replaces the need for far more expensive, inconvenient and traumatic surgical biopsies which must be performed at the hospital. It is done in the mammography suite at the Clinic, in a single office visit. Also, this biopsy procedure is more accurate and can be used for much earlier breast cancer diagnoses.
