Exercise, a diet rich in calcium and select medications can prevent or reduce the progression of osteoporosis. DeKalb Clinic offers the test at its Main Clinic location in DeKalb utilizing a Hologic DEXA QDR-4500 C unit. Some insurance plans do not cover bone densitometry testing, as it is considered a preventive/wellness service. A physician's order is required to schedule a bone densitometry test.
